The Winter Music Conference (WMC) is a weeklong electronic music conference, held every March since 1985 in Miami Beach, Florida, United States.

In this conference professionals such as artists, DJs, record label representatives (A&R), producers, promoters, radio and the media for seminars and panel discussions. Thousands of attendees attend the Winter Music Conference each year.
It was founded in 1985 by then DJs and record pool directors Louis Possenti and Bill Kelly. Held annually in Miami Beach, Florida. The Winter Music Conference, or "WMC" as followers of electronic dance music call it, hosts around 100,000 people. The first Winter Music Conference took place at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott February 19-21, 1986 with approximately 80 dance music industry insiders in attendance. The event festivities are presented across Miami Beach and Downtown Miami. A major event is the International Dance Music Awards. The event commands a major international draw with around 38% of attendees coming from outside the United States.
As one of the most publicized annual events in the industry, WMC generates over a billion unique viewer media impressions each year. Over 2,000,000+ visitors from 209 countries and territories logged on to the WMC web site during the 2014 season. Over 1,900 artists and DJs participated in 390+ performance events presented at 110 venues during the 29th Annual WMC Week in Miami Beach & Miami.

Winter Music Conference, and Miami’s year round thriving musical environment, have helped define the genre of EDM or electronic dance music, once an underground segment of electronic music that has now burst through to mainstream pop music. Thousands more DJs have used the WMC platform to elevate their status within the scene, network with music insiders and make music and have fun times together. Winter Music Conference is mostly about the same thing that Electronic Dance Music is about, parties and having a good time. Clubs and venues in Miami host raves, parties and events. If you’re visiting for just the partying, be sure to do a bit of research about tickets, club policies and schedules to ensure that you make it to the events you’re interested in. Many of the parties and concerts require tickets in advance and can sell out.
