The HTC EVO comes in two variations – the EVO 4G and the EVO Design 4G. The EVO Design 4G is the one that comes with a SIM card and so if this is the device you’ve bought, you need to insert the SIM Card before you can connect to a mobile network. Here’s a step by step guide to correctly changing and inserting the SIM in the HTC EVO Design 4G.

Step 1: Remove the Cover

Unlike other phones, you don’t have to remove the entire cover of the HTC EVO Design 4G. Fairly simple, all you have to do is slide down the bottom portion of the phone to reveal the battery and the slot for a SIM Card.

Step 2:  Remove the Battery

To remove the battery, find the, “Open” tab on the latch, lift it up and slide the battery down. You need to remove the battery in order to slide the SIM in.

Step 3: Insert SIM Card

You’ll find a SIM card slot under the battery. To remove an existing card, simply slide out the SIM and to insert, flip the SIM card over to make the gold connectors face down and slide in the slot.

Step 4: Insert Memory Card

The memory card slot for the HTC EVO Design 4G is located at the left side of the phone. Slide in with the card with the connectors facing downward. The raised rim of the card should be facing outwards.

Step 5: Put Cover Back On

Simply slide the battery back in and make sure the phone’s cover is snapped back without leaving any empty spaces. Power device on and you’re all set to go!
